Trailer Questions
1.
How will the trailer help Art Life?
By
going MOBILE, Art Life will be able to focus
on offering this program to several areas of
Sarasota not just those who attend Nightlife.
Classes can be held anywhere the trailer can park.
By having a permanent place for the computer
system, we can create a state-of-the-art teaching
network for up to 10 workstations.
1a.
Space:
Nightlife Teen Center does not have the storage
available for the equipment that we are looking to
get. Nor do they have the proper space to teach at
the intervals we are hoping to teach at. While an
excellent facility, we feel that being able to
offer the program to other areas of the community
would be much better.
2. Who Will Benefit from the trailer?
Nightlife
Teen Center works with At-Risk Teens in
Sarasota. Nightlife is the primary recipient of
classes for At-Risk Teens. Up to 3 times a week,
Art Life will park the trailer at Nightlife to host
multiple classes each day. This is the first
purpose of the trailer and the program.
Various Community Centers have limited
resources for teaching Computer Based Art.
Throughout Sarasota, Art Life can provide help by
hosting classes for their center. Categories would
be established depending on their ability to get
funding. Centers like the Newtown Community Center
would fit under the At-Risk category allowing Art
Life to work with them for free while Senior
Friendship Centers would be considered
extra-curricular which we may ask for a donation to
be onsite. This is only an example. Each center
would be reviewed independantly.
Small Charter Schools may not have the
ability to begin a full Computer-Based Art Program.
These small schools can also benefit from the
trailer. We can bring Professional Equipment to
Small Charter Schools that may be able to afford a
donation at a quarter of the cost of a full
program.
Home School Groups rarely have the
opportunity to learn graphic art software and
photography. Once again being mobile, this program
can be brought to churches or to private homes
where teams of students can meet. A per child
donation would be assesed for that type of
program.
The Community of Sarasota and surrounding
communities can benefit from the trailer while
being parked in front of Target, Walmart or Best
Buy shopping centers. Classes can be offered to the
community through larger financially stable
businesses that promote community education. These
classes can feature training in basic computer
skills or job aptitude testing, even employment
days where the workplace can allow people to fill
out an application online through the trailer's
high powered WiFi antennas. These programs would
bring awareness to the Art Life and Nightlife
programs while possibly receiving donations from
each business.
3. How much will the trailer
Cost?
We
will complete this section very soon as bids come
in for the construction of the trailer as well as
the interior. We are hoping to stay within
$18,000.00 for the trailer. We will also need to
purchase a truck large enought to haul this very
large trailer. This will add another $35,000.00 to
the price tag. We will save a huge amount of money
by ordering a blank trailer and outfitting the
interior and electrical ourselves.
